Meet The Team

Head Sports Therapist/Owner
Tom Peddell
Tom has excelled in sport since the age of 8 as an athlete, coach, sports massage therapist and sports therapist.
As an athlete he has competed for prestigious swimming and water polo clubs which has taken him all over the UK competing at many levels of championships.
Injury has halted Tom on his journey to major championships twice - one of which ultimately ended his ambition of further progression, as he had to have major hip surgery as a teenager.
Channeling this disappointment in a positive way, Tom turned his personal ambitions into coaching others to fulfill theirs.
Tom's personal experiences further fuelled his desire to help others by becoming a sports massage therapist in 2009. This led him to work for a Physiotherapy clinic in Portsmouth as well as developing his own client base in the Wickham area.
As a sports massage therapist, Tom was inspired to do more. So in 2012 he studied at the University of Chichester to become a sports therapist whilst gaining some valuable experience in well established clinics in Portsmouth. Tom graduated in 2015 and has worked in multidisciplinary clinics in Emsworth, alongside many different professions whilst starting and building Meon Valley Sports Injury Clinic.
Tom's 15+ years experience has seen him treat many different ailments and complaints for clients including swimmers, footballers, runners, Paralympians, wrestlers, young people and the elderly.

Sports Therapist
Bayley King
Bayley is a Sports Therapist graduating from the University of Chichester in 2025. Bayley has a strong passion for human anatomy and injury prevention/rehabilitation.
He is dedicated to helping patients recover from injuries by restoring their daily function as well as sporting ability and reducing the risk of recurrence through tailored treatment and prevention strategies. His evidence-based approach ensures that every patient receives the most effective and up-to-date care.
Alongside his professional work, Bayley maintains an active lifestyle through the gym and playing football for his local football team, Burridge AFC. Due to this, Bayley understands what it means to struggle in sport and daily life due to what may only appear as a small injury or issue, and what others may only describe as a ‘minuscule’ matter. Such experiences, given by his teammates and patients as well as Bayley's first-hand insight, allow for a deeper understanding of the physical struggles of sport and the challenges of recovery, allowing him to connect with patients on a personal level and provide practical, empathetic support.
By combining clinical expertise with a real-world understanding that every patient has different needs, Bayley strives to help individuals of all ages not only return to the activities they love at their peak physical and sporting ability but also build long-term resilience and confidence in their bodies that hopefully prevent future injury and allow people to continue enjoying their injury-free lifestyles.

Sports Therapist
Jack Tate
Jack has taken an interest in sports since he was very young, playing football and hockey during his youth and engaging in 7aside football as he has grown up. This has honed his competitive spirit and teamwork abilities.
Currently, Jack has just graduated from the University of Chichester in Sports Therapy, completing the degree alongside working at the clinic as a sports massage therapist since March 2025.
His academic journey has been complemented by practical experience; during his time at college. This is where he received his massage qualification after he worked in a clinic setting every week, laying the foundation for his therapeutic skills and honing his craft. This experience was further developed in his first year at university, where he focused on enhancing his massage techniques, aiming to provide relief and support to those who may need it.
Jack's determination is evident not only in his sports but also in his academic pursuits, where he is driven to merge his love for sports with his passion for helping others recover and perform at their best. His commitment to his studies and practical application in therapy showcases his ambition to make a significant impact in the field of sports therapy and sports massage.

Sports Therapist
Ryan Jakeman
Ryan is a graduate Sports Therapist with a lifelong passion for sport, exercise and helping people. He has always been fascinated by the human body and how it can recover, adapt and become stronger, which led him to pursue a career in Sports Therapy.
Sport has always been a major part of his life, particularly badminton and football. He currently plays badminton for a local club each week, and being actively involved in sport has given me a strong understanding of the physical and mental demands that come with staying active and performing at your best.
His passion for rehabilitation also comes from personal experience. At just 18 years old, he suffered an ACL injury that required surgery and a long period of rehabilitation. Going through the recovery process taught Ryan far more than just the physical aspects of injury. It gave first-hand experience of the challenges involved in treatment, rehabilitation and, most importantly, the struggle of returning to the activities you love. It also showed him the importance of patience, consistency and mental resilience when recovering from a significant injury.
Alongside his studies and career in Sports Therapy, he has spent over three years independently learning Spanish, entirely self-taught and self-funded, and has reached a high level of proficiency. This has been a personal challenge that has taught him the value of consistency, perseverance and continuous learning, qualities that he also brings to my work with clients.
From a young age, he always knew that he wanted to help people in the best way possible. As a Sports Therapist, he wants to use his knowledge, experience and passion for the human body to provide individualised care that helps people regain confidence in themselves and their abilities.
Most importantly, his goal is to help every client get back to doing what they love, whether that means returning to competitive sport, staying active, or simply feeling confident in their body again.
